The religious Uchal festival of the Kalash community was observed with reverence and respect on August 22, 2024, at Rumbur during the day and at Bumburait during the night. In preparation for the festival, KVDA, in coordination with the Religious Qazis, implemented several administrative measures. These included the development of designated parking zones, rehabilitation of festival venues, cleaning and repairing the routes leading to the festival sites. Lighting was arranged both along the routes and at the dancing area, while dedicated seating arrangements were made for women, foreigners, and the general public. Washrooms were rehabilitated, and CCTV cameras were installed for security. The festival saw a large attendance from both foreign visitors and Pakistanis, with full security ensured by the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and Police. The festival ended with prayers and hope of good harvest for the community.
